Faye Padfield – Chair of Governors
Faye has been a governor at Abbots Farm Infant and Preschool since September 2012, previously holding the roles of parent governor, vice chair and chair of the resources committee. Faye has two children who now attend the neighbouring junior school.
Faye is a Research Project Officer at the University of Warwick and is currently managing a large international conference and exhibition in Power Electronics research. Her skills include strategic planning, event management, website content design and maintenance, report writing, data analysis, social media marketing and budgetary management.
Paul Ormsby - Vice Chair
Paul serviced within the Armed Forces for 12 years, since leaving the forces He has been employed within the field of Health & Safety, working across Europe in a variety of environments from Logistics to Schools providing advice and guidance on safety and facilities management. In addition, he has been a youth worker within Rugby and is currently a Coach for Hillmorton FC.
Paul has two children one who attends Abbots Farm Infant and the Junior School. Paul Joined the Board of Governor as he has seen the changes that the school has gone through over the last 2 years and would like to support the school in developing further.
Liz Gascoigne- LA Governor
Liz has been a LA governor since 2012 and is also a parent of a child at the school, and one at the junior school. She holds the position of vice chair of the Performance and Standards committee.
Liz works as at Rugby Visitor centre at the museum and art gallery and library in Rugby town centre, and is passionate about celebrating Rugby town and its history, both as a sporting and cultural centre of interest. She was heavily involved in the recent Rugby festival and Fanzone, and helped to arrange a visit to the Fanzone with year 2 children. She has also worked in travel and tourism in various previous roles, including managing her own small business.
Liz’s skills include organisation and planning for events, small business management, trouble- shooting and customer liaison.
Heidi Salisbury - Co-opted Governor
Heidi has been a governor since 2012. She is the nominated Child Protection Governor and sits on the Performance & Standards Committee. She also works with the teaching staff and children as part of the e-safety Committee.
She has been a civil servant for 12 years and has expertise in Child Protection, Protecting Vulnerable People and Safeguarding matters. She works closely with other agencies in the community such as Children’s Services and has good knowledge of current issues affecting our communities such as Child sexual Exploitation, antisocial behaviour, bullying, substance misuse and Radicalisation. Her daily role at work involves supervising a large team of investigators. She is used to working under pressure and making time-critical, life-changing decisions. She has specialist child interviewing skills and plans and leads strategic operations relating to threat, risk and harm utilising strict government legislation.
Heidi lives in the local community and has 2 children (one of which attends the school and one who has recently left the school) and therefore has a vested interest in keeping ALL of our children safe from harm when in education! Her hobbies include participating in various kinds of sport and coaching Mini Rugby. She has completed various RFU courses including Safeguarding in Sport.
She is prepared to have difficult conversations when needed and put the school under scrutiny in order to achieve the best and safest possible futures for our children!
Rebecca Payne - Co-opted Governor
I have recently joined as a Governor and I am looking forward to being part of the local community school. I am a mum of two children, both of whom enjoy attending Abbots Farm Infant School.
Currently, I work as a Head teacher in a Warwickshire Primary school. I am committed to children’s education, believing through excellent teaching and learning, all children will achieve their potential. I am delighted to be able to strategically support the school in my role as Governor.
